I have a 89 150 Johnson/Evinrude that the steering goes through the tilt tube bracket on the motor (Dual cable Teleflex SSC135 cables). Anyone know what year range has the same type of bracket so i can install another motor in place of the 150. I also may go with a smaller motor and go with single cable steering if possible. Thanks

Re: Steering cable application

Dave, I am not sure what you are asking. Motors newer than yours and likely older than yours (back to early 80s or so) of all HPs have the thru tilt tube type steering. Normally a single cable steering is the standard. You have the optional dual cable steering.

Any motor that has thru-the-tilt-tube steering is compatible. At least for single cable, it is.
