I changed my lower unit lube oil yesterday in my 5.0L Mercruiser Bravo 3. The old oil I drained from lower unit did not appear milkly and there were no signs of water that I noticed. While rushing to re-install drain plug after pumping new lube oil (I used Super Tech Marine Gear Lube), I did notice a slight Milky look to the new oil that drain out while putting plug in. Any ideas to why this is?

It probbally was just foamed up just a little from pumping it in,let it sit for a day, remove plug, let a small ammount drain into a jar.see if it has any water drops in it.if ya let out to much you have to top it off or it'll wreck the upper drive.

Maybe nothing to worry about. . . Monitor it with a quick check during the season. Use new gasket seals for the plugs.
