throttle handle not staying in position

Noticed yesterday when running my throttle handle is slipping back to the neutral position. Nothing drastic but causes engine to lose 100 rpms every 20 seconds. Is there something I can tighten to stop this and it is a flush mount mercury throttle control.

Probably not but some gunnel mount controls have a friction screw down by the control handle. There are many different types of controls a picture would help to identify which one it is.

Don't worry about it. In a short amount of time some dirt and corrosion will stiffen it up.

Since it's a new boat let the dealer fix it.
