hello this is my first boat. i went one day with brother to look at a boat he was thinking of getting. when i saw this boat sitting at the top of the hill. i walked over to the marina office to inquire about it. they had it for $2000. but he just wanted to get rid of it. so dropped it to $1000. offered to let me make payments. so being the nice husband i said let me talk to my wifey. so after talking to her. she said i could get it. but i wait around. a year goes by and every time i go up to where my brothers boat is i take another look. well the wife went up to swim at pool at the marina where my brothers boat was. she said she planning something for my birthday. well i check the price on the boat i keep watching and he drop it to $500. so wifey gave 250 and the following week i picked my boat up finally. they didnt know much about this boat. i dont know a lot about boats. but i can usually figure things out with this forum and friends that know stuff about boats.lol. after doing some inspecting i notice a crack behind the prop. so im thinking that the outdrive will need to be replaced. now i start looking at the I4 3.0 that is in there. take spark plugs out spray some bp blaster in there and let soak a little bit. then some how try to get down there and turn this thing over. well it wouldnt turn over. so i decided that i would just yank this thing out. pulled it out. since i have to get another outdrive i got a smoking deal on 350 complete engine. craigslist ad said that it runs but has a knock. i have rebuilt engines before so thats no problem for me. well he said that it was leaking from oil filter. the guy added some oil and started it. ran great and there was no knock. he stuck to his word and sold it to me for $300. i stop by the auto parts store and picked up a oil and oil filter. changed it once i got home and started it. no more leaking and no knocking. so im happy right now. which brings me to the point im at now. since the 3.0 motor mount is in front and 350 are on the sides. i have to build the supports on the side some how.its a glass boat. i can pay a shop to do it. but i feel i can do this. since i have done v8 swaps in my trucks before.lol. so just needing some help guys. i will post some pics later.
