Going to pickup a trailer for our pontoon from trailers for pontoons. The deck size is 20ft overall length is 22.5". Which size is best? 18-21' or 22-24' tandem axle model. The bunk size on the smaller trailer is 16' and the other is 18'.

I would go with the longer one. You can get in a bind backing up with the toons where they are. On a regular boat that comes to a point in the center you dont notice it so much but when the toons are 8 feet wide all the way to the tip it changes things. Just make sure the whole pontoon fits on the bunk and there is room to spare on the front.

Their is a reason a 22 plus has a duel axle, it has breaks for the heaver load and is over the 3000 pound limit.

The smaller trailer is also dual axle with brakes. The pontoon length is 20' 11". Seems like I'm right in between sizes.

According to the link, you need the 18 to 21. Looks pretty straight forward.

Most 21 foot and under are single axles and no breaks.
