Has anyone here ever installed shutoff valves on their water pump lines so that they can change the impeller and/or serpentine belt while the boat is in the water? It seems like a safety issue also. I know of a few boats that have seacocks installed on the water inlet lines. My generator has one, but my engine does not. I know that the water is drawn through the outdrive, but it seems like it would make sense to have a shutoff for maintenance purposes.
Thanks!
