looking for an inexpensive engine rebuilder

I just got my boat running & it is wrapping like run dmc, i am not wasting another month messing around with this engine, can anone recommend an inexpensive rebuilding company? I saw some listed last year but search came up with nothing.
I have a 2000 4.3 vortec 2 barrel mercruiser.
I will be purchasing a long block.

I can't recommend anything in NY but you're asking about a rebuilding company yet saying you're buying a long block?

If you buy the proper longblock then you only needs to move certain components over which would not necessarily need a "rebuilding" shop.

Or are you going to buy a longblock then have a company rebuild it?

no, I want to buy a long block. rebuilt, new, remanufactured,
whatever you want to call it, I want to replace mine.

Quite a few choices then if you're considering from a brand new 4.3 or something off of ebay.

What is inexpensive anyway to you?

Could start from less than a thousand on a chance with an ebay one or a few thousand for new.

Some guys even like finding donor boats for just the engine and drive then sell off the rest of the boat.

Some of the other guys will probably chime in with what they may have done or who they may have used but if you want to get started with the choices, try googling these:

rebuilt marine engines

mercury remanufactured engines

check out Marine Engine Depot.......a division of Marine Power

brand new GM 4.3 longblock $2450. Gonna be hard to beat. Not a reman engine, but new on a crate from GM.
