2 trips ago, my motor started bogging down. (dropping RPM's) This past trip we were able to get the boat going at a constant RPM by continually squeezing the bulb. I just replaced fuel hose and clamps and in line filter recently so my guess would be my fuel pump is going.

The VRO is no longer hooked up fyi.

My question is: Are Evinrude OMC fuel pumps universal? Does anyone happen to know the part number? Unfortunately the part number has worn off so I can't see it. Any other ideas on purchasing this part?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

just go to ishopmarine.com and you can put in your model number and all the parts diagrams and numbers are there. You do need a new fuel pump as pumping it is the test for a weak one.

Thanks for the info. I went on there, but for some reason it won't give me the part for the actual fuel pump. Anybody else have the same situation and know what pump to get?

I believe the preferred part# when bypassing VRO is 438556.
