Lower Foot Info

I have a general question about Johnson Outboards. Are the fill and drain plugs in the lower foot of Johnson OB's magnetized? Reason I ask is because it doesn?t seem like mine are. I was just wondering if they are or not... Thanks for any info... :)

No, not all are. In fact, probably more not than are.

Some are some aren't. I happen to have a V4 longshaft gearcase with magnets on both fill and drain plugs? As my mechanic so astutely said, "If'n you get metal on that top magnet? Then ya know ya got problems ..."
