I just bought a flat bottom boat and it has attwood sockets for the bow and anchor light. It has a 2 pin socket on the front and a 3 pin socket on the stern light.Does any one know how the 3 pin works compared to the 2 pin? My other boat had a 2 pin and would like to have it so I could switch lights from one to another. Thanks

Re: 2 and 3 pin anchor light

You can't stuff a three pin mast into a two pin base, or a two pin mast into a three pin socket unless the pin layout accommodates the two. You likely need to replace one or the other. Have you checked the Atwood web site to see about the three pin base? Pull the base and see if there are actually three wires connected.

you can put a 3 pin light in a 2 pin socket but it will not work as the 2 pins being used will only work the deck light (little light behind the main light) You will either have to change the base or get a 2 pin light
