I'm considering buying a 14 ft cal glass boat with a 70 hp force engine for $1,400 but have read mixed reviews about how great a
Decision this might be. It comes
With a trailer which has papers i cant recall what kind of cal glass it is but its a little speed boat type with 4 seats with storage underneath a radio, steering wheel etc.

Specifically I'm reading mixed opinions about boat rot and the boat being cheaply made and also something about the boat being a beast and maybe really heavy to pull on the trailer?

Can anyone enlighten me as to weather or not this is a good idea? We were only at first thinking about buying a aluminum boat with electric motor as we can't spend very much but when we came across this boat we thought it would be a better boat in terms of what we can do with it ie ocean touring. Water sports etc which aren't really an option with a little electric motor.

Re: 14ft cal glass boat

Go to the restoration section and read up on how to inspect a hull.

Are you going into the ocean with a 14' boat???? Not a good idea.

The boat must match the water or you can end up in some serious trouble. Force motors are no longer made..... price seems too high.
