We have a 2001 Mercury 50HP 4 stroke c/w carb's that has recently developed a problem with the idling, it will run all day under load but when I move the throttle to neutral, the engine rev's up v.fast ( 5000 + revs). The same problem can also occur when the engine is still warming up. When under load (in gear) everything is completly normal!
The problem is also intermittent, so it would appear that something is sticking open ............. but what, any ideas
