I'm getting ready to dive into another project on my beloved Ebbtide. I will post some pictures of stuff i have already done to it. Its not a pretty boat, It gets the job done and does it well :)

I'm sure some may not agree with my repair jobs, We will see.lol

When i started.

After owning the boat for 2 years with soggy floors, I decided it was time to address that.

Old seat box.

New seat box's i made. I had some small storage tackle box's that slid in perfectly, Freeing up some other space in the front.

Memorial day year and a half after i got the boat, I blew the power head on the 84 Merc black max. :(

Fell into a great deal on a 00 Merc XR6 150 And a 00 Nitro trailer, for 2400, And i had to remove the motor and get it ready for insurance company to pick the boat up from the trailer. And i did :)

This is all i have for now.

I have vaccummed all the leaves out. Over the winter i was in the ICU for 10 days on two different occasions, And my boat cover came off, And it got ganged up by some tree's i guess. And i found all kinds of crap from the previous owner i guess. Probably me too.

I've not did much fiberglass work, Just the floors i did in the beg of summer last year. I'm going do to a hack job fixing it, But it will be strong when finished.

To fix the cuts i made on the top cap, I will fiberglassing back up, And painting with non skid paint the whole top rail more than likely. I don't really care what it looks like as long as it does the job.

I don't have the money to replace the boat, And i really like the ol girl. Hopefully when finished it will be strong, lol If not i will donate it to someone that owns a pond an have a nice trolling boat lol

Well if you are still reading this, And have some pointers, I'm all ears. :) ....

Yeah, The weather is being weird here. Cold and rainy. Can't wait to start on it. I don't know how professional its going to be, but i bet its going to be strong. I went alittle overboard on the floor when i did mine, Got it a little on the heavier side then i should have, But i dont want to big boys falling through while fishing ;) Only thing i have left to do is the transom, And i'm pretty sure the rear section of my stringers are ate up. I don't know what i'm going to do there yet,I don't want to rip up my new floor :/

If you have some extra time on youtube, look up Friscoboater's videos. Hes even a member here on the forum. Seems like he really knows his stuff. And you can see that in his videos.

If your stingers are rotten, for safety you will need to replace them. What Mat and cloth R U using for the transom? What resin R U using? I think you will need More like 5 gallons to all you will be doing. the first link in my signature below has some good info and drawings for you.

Re: 1984 Ebbtide 176SK Repair.

I've not gotten into my stringers yet, I'm just hoping there good riight now. Will be a week or so before i get the time to get into working on it and get those stringers open :/

I have some 1.5 oz chopped strand,1708,and some kind of woven that i have no clue what is lol...

I am using poly resin, I don't know the brand. But its the same as i used on the floor.... Yeah i planned on using like 5gallons... Buying it a gallon at a time.

If you're using Over the Counter resin, be aware that it contains wax, so unless you do wet on wet layups you will need to sand and wash down with acetone between layups.

I got it from a body shop supplies place, But i will look at it....

FIBERGLASS RESIN 1 Gallon [BN404] - $39.95 : PIVCO, Automotive Restoration Supply Source This is about the only thing i can get locally.

On my floor i did sand in between coats , Just because i thought i had too. Do i really need to with this resin? I hadn't planned on it, Never really thought about the wax :/ Thanks for catching me,lol.
