I have a 1976 Searay 240. It is need of being repowered. The boat currently does not have powersteering, but an engine I am looking at comes with a complete set up. Pump lines and ram. With everything there is it something that can be set up on my boat?

Does it have the cylnder that bolts onto the inner transom shield.

In this forum, it doesn't matter what kind of boat you have, we need to know what engine and drive you are working on.

Ofcourse, it has a Mercruiser 233 and the outdrive has been upgraded to an Alpha 1. As far as how the cylinder bolts up I am not sure yet.

Re: Adding power steering

Alright, I have purchased the engine and got a few pictures. Two are of my boat and how the steering currently is and one is the actuator. If more info or pictures are needed to tell if this is a possible add on let me know. Thanks

Ayuh,.... I believe that actuator might work, but it ain't all there....

I think the eye bracket hangin' on the bolt attaches to the aluminum tube, but ya need the end from the ram that attaches to the cable/ tiller arm...
