Need to find year of motor

I just purchased a 25 hp Mercury outboard and need to find out the year so i can purchase the right parts. I have a serial number A729830 but there is no record of this number? i also have a number I found 872-9076-C2 Can anyone help me?

It falls into the 1987 Canadian range according to Maxrules chart and the serial number and Merc's website show that serial # to be a MERCURY CANADA 6 MH

When I look at The Mercury chart 1987 is right, I first looked on the NAPA chart it said 1985, I better not use that again.
