IF your diesel keeps sucking in air check lines for pin holes first!!!!

Intermitent problem since last oct, the truck would get air in system.
Crack the injectors, pump up the filters away it would go.
Last week it died and would not restart, went through the motions and determined it was the lift fuel pump $200+- for rebuild:faint2:
Installed fuel pump, the squishy hand pump starts spiting air and fuel around the rubber plunger, replaced unit for $280+- :faint2:
Still getting air in system, call HD tech out, preasurize fuel tank, find steel fuel line has a micro pin hole in it, call out $120 est. :faint2:

Still have to pay my helper/tech and buy the new line and install. :grumpy:

What a PITA

I feel your pain! Life has gotten very complex for those of us who like to fix things ourselves.

You know the worst part is, DAY #1 we cleaned and replaced the foot long primary fuel filter behind the cab and used air to preasurize the fuel tank to push the fuel through to the lift pump and did not notice the drips, GRRRR
