Anyone used the spray can foam from Home Depot to fill between stringers? I need to fill a few small areas, (about 1'x1'x6") not the whole boat. I know that stuff is very nasty, but at least it's cheap and easy to find.

I would be more concerned with that foam soaking in water leading to rot and weight. I don't know much about it (open/closed cell).

The spray can foam is NOT a closed cell foam. It will soak up water like a sponge. Buy some 2 part pour foam. I got mine at Merton's Marine. They have a website and will ship it UPS.

While I am the last person who will ever advocate a home foam product for marine use, you have a very small void to foam. If you can find a home product that is a true closed cell foam, you may be okay. Otherwise, two part foam is the way to go. Good luck...
