Broken shift shaft assembly Mercury 2000 30hp 2 stroke Please Help

After changing out the impeller in my 2000 30hp 2-stroke I realized that the plastic piece that the shift shaft connects to in the cowling has broken. The coupling and jam nut were stuck together and upon breaking them apart I guess I broke the plastic mount. Anyone know how easy it is to fix this? Can't find a service manual around and figured this has happened to someone before. The serial is 0t048373 model 1031412wd. Thanks for any assistance!
