I have nearly 5000 hours on the 2004 kicker, its served me well. This past year it has started to smoke intermittently, 6 hour of running and then all of a sudden she'll smoke like blazes for about a half an hour. Compression seems good, 100 on top and 105 down below. It also doesn't use any huge amount of oil , seems like more is drawn through from the line that runs from the head to the carb than anything. I did disconnect this line to see if that's where the oil may be coming from but she still smokes. So, rings or valve seals?? I took it for a good run a WOT and the plugs came out quite clean, no oil residue at all on them....... Sherm
