When to reprime oil on tldi motors?

I purchased a 50 hp Tohatsu tldi early last January. The dealer primed the motor and had it ready for use. Since it's been so cold and wet here, I haven't had a chance to run the motor at all. I hope to try it out sometime next week (3rd wk. of April). The owners manual says "When the engine is new or have been left without operation for a long time, be sure to execute the following operation for forcedly feeding the engine oil". Should I reprime the oil, or is it ok to run without priming?

Has it been 3 months, or 15 months?

You could re-prime. Only takes a few minutes. But probably just fine as is.

Paul,

Thanks a lot for the info! I read the instructions in the owners manual & they said you should run the motor about half an hour while re-priming--or something like that. I really didn't understand them. Could you give me a quick & dirty repriming method in plain English? Also, about what is the longest interval you should go before repriming? Again, thanks a lot for all your help. You're a big asset to this board.
