1996 Mercrusier 4.3 LX engine timing

Does anyone have any pictures on how to connect the jumper wire to put engine in base timing? The pages in the shop manual would be helpful. Just want to be sure before I get started.

Are you sure you have a Thunderbolt V ignition? Not uncommon for boats to have an engine package a year older than the boat due to when the engine years come out compared to when the new boats come out.
With an engine SN we could verify it for you. a 95 would have a Thunderbolt IV and not have to be put into base timing mode.

Great, you do have a Thunderbolt V ignition, and you do use the procedures Chris gave you.
