If I just unplug the 2 wires from the oil level sensor, will I disable it, allowing temp sensor to still work alarm correctly?
The oil sensor only senses oil level in tank, correct, and only completes ground to warning lights?

Re: Disabling Oil Level Sensor

And when the tank or supply hose leaks and you lose your oil and no alarm to warn you, is it worth losing the engine?

Re: Disabling Oil Level Sensor

Try thinking of this as a theraputic trial in a diagnostic work up, not as a plan for a future life style. Maybe that will clear up the current question.

Now, to phrase this another way, Capt Ken, I want to run it down the lake like this as a test to eliminate the oil level sensor as the cause of the warning light, and ensure everything else in the warning light/ buzzer system is working correctly, rather than risk breaking something trying to pull the oil tank apart to test.
Didn't say anything about this being a permanent plan.
