volvo sx/dp exhaust bellow snap ring?

Hello all, over the winter I took my SX/DP outdrive off blasted it and refinished it. Tonight I reinstalled it on the boat. I didnt put the exhaust bellow in until after I mounted the drive. So I have no way of installing the snap ring for the exhaust bellow. I installed it without the snap ring and it seems pretty secure even at full tilt. Now my question is has anyone ever run the exhaust bellow without the snap ring? I really dont want to pull it back off. But I will if need be. Thanks for any help Mike

Run it like that. If it comes loose.just remove it. Till you can get the time.
that's a bunch o work to do the snap ring.

Thank you. That is kind of what I was thinking. I just wanted to make sure that it didn't absolutely have to be there. I plan on pulling it at the end of the summer so I will make sure it goes in then.
