what is the best way to run the tranducer wire without hanging it up the mounting base of the motor. I am woundering if the wire will catch on anything becouse of the slack need to alow the motor to be raised and lower as well as rotated

Knowing the make and model of motor might help a bit.

OK then -- I will assume you have the bracket required to mount the transducer on the motor. If not, you need one. There are several available types, any of which will work. Cabelas, Bass Pro, and of course right here on IBOATS. The two diagrams below should help. If you have the newer motor rather than the Grip Glide handle, the process is the same but you need to route the cable past the paddle type handle to avoid pinching the cable. Keep in mind you cannot tie wrap the cable to the shaft below the steering collar and the shaft needs to slide up and down.
