Are shear pins not used anymore?

Is there a shear (drive) pin for a Johnson 1983 25 hp? I don't see one shown or listed in the parts diagram for a JTECTE. In fact I don't see a shear pin in the parts diagrams of any Johnson 25 hp after 1977. I am wondering if they quit using shear pins after 1977.

No shear pin as the prop is on a splined shaft. I think that the change over was done with the 1974 moudle year. JMO

Looks like '77 was the first year for the splined shaft. My '76 25 hp definitely has a shear pin.
