I have a Volvo 250 with a 270 outdrive. The outdrive was rebuilt in 2009. Lately the steering has becobe very stiff. I eliminated the steering cable by disconnecting it at the outdrive and the wheel turns freely. The boat is in the water and I want to know if there is a steering greese fitting that I can get to that would help or will I have take the boat out of the water.

Did you try to move the drive steering arm when you had the cable disconnected? Most common problem with those drives is the steering bushing through the transom shield get corroded. Too late for grease when the start locking up. Time to get the boat out of the water, remove the upper gear box and pull the steering fork to change the bushings.
