I have a late 80's model Evinrude 70hp. After 3 weeks of working on her to get her to start, (replaced spark plugs, replaced fuel line, fuel filter, primer cap, and wire harness (red plug)) we got her up and running yesterday! We were totally pumped....only we then could'nt shut the motor off! 
While running, we turned the key to the off position, kept running, pulled the kill switch lanyard, kept running, disconnected the red plug!, kept running! We finally pulled the spark boots one by one til it shut off.
My question is, does this sound like an ignition, kill switch, or power pack problem? Any ideas as to where to start would be very helpful.
