Johnson Power Trim/Tilt install

I recently purchased a 2000 40hp Johnson tiller with power trim/tilt to replace an older 30hp. The 30hp was a screw clamp mount type where the 40hp is going to be mounted via 4 1/2"bolts. This is going into a Lund ws-16 rated for 50hp. Is there anything other than drilling the holes and siliconing bolts that I need to be aware of...besides being centered and all that. Any idea on how tight to go on the nuts? Should I use a back plate on the inside on lower bolts to disperse stress? Any advice would be appreciated. Only want to do this once. Thanks a bunch.

Make sure you get the correct mounting hardware. I would use the backing plates on all four bolts. Torque the nuts on the bolts to 40 ft lbs. Or the old joke was, until you could hear the transom crack. LOL
