Hi..

I have removed the drive for a water pump change and also been told that my seal carrier was not in great shape so I decided to replace this...

When I removed this the drive shaft had some play exactly like in the below video.

What is the way forward?

Can I change this with the lower part gears and shaft still in place?
If I remove the ?nut? will I have access to the bearing and change it with the shaft still in place?

Thx

That is normal. When running, the gear pushes the shaft up into the bearing. Nothing to worry about.

Ok... Thanks Don, at least that is good to hear :)

I removed the lower part to do some jb Weld in order to get a flat surface for the water pump, I also changed the seal carrier as you suggested.
Anyway I take a pic when all is done thanks for your help much appreciated Don
