Not sure the warm up lever would cause such a problem. Is there actually oil in the foot? If so and it isn't milky looking, I think you have a mechanical problem to deal with. The shifter linkage works a shifting paw in the foot to move a shifter clutchdog one way or the other. And it seems that is stuck in one position now. So if everything else has been looked at and verified to be okay, you may have to take the lower foot apart and see what is holding that clutchdog from moving now...

Remove the shift and throttle cables from the mtr and see if they work when trying to use control box. If they do you have mtr probs. If not, something in the control is broken or jammed up.

Thanks for your advice boobie, new to how this works, learning,(hopefully).Removed the cables, can switch gears at the motor, but control is still stuck, will not shift to any position..bought this boat new in 1976, 2nd time out gears were stuck, back to boat dealer, next day picked it up...I had tried to shift gear with the warm-up lever in full open, said that was the problem, not aware of doing it again through the years..If they told me how to fix the problem too far back for my memory...have the manuals on the motor and remote, not sure if I could handleit, but if you have any more tips or advice would apprecieate very much...Thanks, 3dojan3

All I can say without being there is you'll have to to take the control box apart and see what is jammed up or broken. Or else take it back to a dlr and tell him what happened.
