well i have been wanting another project for a while now and found this little gem for $500.00 decided it would be a great candidate. i have not attached any of the outter hull althought everythign is ok on it besides floor and stringers. i cant understand how the transom isnt shot and not sure yet to go ahead and do it anyway of leave it alone. this does have what i believe to be a mc-1 mercruiser and a 188hp v8 (ford 302)?

for some reason the pics will not work to upload from my computer so i will have to tray again on my next day off before i remove the out drive, and engine seeing as i believe that if i am going to put the money in to replace the floor, and probably atleast a few bad stringers that i know of right now i just as well do the transome also even though i cant feel any flex, and mallett hitting the transom sounded ok there is no reason to go this far, and not do it all properly to have a nice boat for years to come

Got the fuel tank out and from what u can see the stringers are not fully glassed over and neither is the transom has anyone encountered this before?

Yes, it is fairly typical. Some manufacturers do minimal glassing of the wood structure.

well as much as i hate to it looks like it is time to abandon this project as i have now found a few places that are broken thru the hull on the bottom looks as if its been crashed in to some rocks or something and the pics wont turn out for me to show it but with it now needing complete tear down to bare hull and start over it is going to cost way too much money to make this happen and i just cant tie up over double what the boat is worth in it so now i guess its time to part out what i can, and maybe build a flat bed trailer out of its trailer in order to recoupe some of the money i now have tied up into it.
