After having spent an incredible amount of time wrapped around my engine with my hands down in the bilge working on removing a starter on my mercruiser, I think that anyone who has done this deserves to get a tee shirt or medal, acknowledging this superhuman feat of patience and ambidexterity. Now i know why pirates often put their captives in the bilge. Yuuck! Starter had a badly corroded terminal on it. Glad I could do it now in my shop than on the lake somewhere. Mission accomplished!

Congrats. I do not look forward to the day when I have to do this as well. On my engine, the power steering cooler is perfectly placed in the way, I'm sure that will have to be fully disassemble to even be able to get a wrench TO the starter!
