Hey guys. I have bench style seats in my boat with the clamp on type seats. What i wanted to do was install pedestal bases and then the seat mounts without any extensions. Will this work. Here are some pics.www.png These are 3/4" pin type bases and seat mount

easier for you to tell us why you don't think they'll work.

BTW, they work on mine.

I didn't know whether or not you have to use a pedestal in between those pieces. I wanted the lowest profile possible

Just keep in mind you will need the clearance under the mounting base for the pin to stick into.

Re: Installing pedestal seats

I have bench seats with foam inside.

Is the foam sealed in a compartment or just strapped under the seats?
Sooner or later water is going down the seat mount hole. Rain, Splash, etc.
The water will need a way out for the foam to dry.

I believe it is just a block running the who length of the bench underneath. The benches sit off the floor so if water gets in it will drain to the floor. Here is a picIMG_2768.JPGIMG_2765.JPG

two things you'll have to do. Cut 4" circle in top of bench for the base then cut hole in foan for seat post. Hopefully some heafty sheet metal screws will hold the base to the bench and not pull or viberate out.
