84 Liberator 201

Hey fellow boaters!
Obviously a new member, I currently own an 88' chaparral. Now I am looking at an 84' Liberator 201. Turns, says it needs a new thunderbolt ignition. It was misfiring, so the guy took off the cap and it was in pieces. So what I need to know is what series thunderbolt this boat would have.. 350 small block.. Having trouble finding the info online.. Or is it something interchangeable, I'd like to be able to bring something to get this boat running before I buy it. Any input would be greatly appreciated, just reaaaaly don't wanna buy something without seeing it run. Thanks guys.

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,.. I'd Guess it's a T-Bolt IV, but checkin' the serial number is a better bet...

What, Exactly is in pieces,..??

you could just borrow an older points distributor or even an HEI unit out of any sbc to just hear it run on the muffs.

If you end up buying it, you can go with something like this for $350 all new Delco

He said the contacts were all messed up, maybe the condenser fell off, either way, it's useless.

Ayuh,... post a picture,.... If the Cap's contacts are bad, ya need a new cap...

'n there Ain't no condenser... Condensers are used with Points, not electronic ignition...

Well the owner got it running, needs a water pump and a carb rebuild. I'm going down to look at it on Saturday .. Anyone know if it would have power steering?

Check that boat out good foer rot - Floor, Stringers, Transom. Did it sit in the water a lot? Outside? Covered?
