Newbie here! Recently inherited from grandpa (93 yrs old) his beloved 12' Starcraft Sea Scamp. I have no idea what the year of the boat is. Serial # is 996079. The boat is from the 60's so serial # is all it has. Plan on posting pictures soon after I have it taken apart to begin resto. It also came with a MQ11 Johnson 9.5 (1965) that runs but needs a carb rebuild. Thanks up front for the info!!

Welcome aboard pastorpete!! Starcraft seemed to have several types of serial number patterns over the years. My 1965 started with 65-xxx while my 1972 is similar to yours with 99xxxx. If you look down at the bottom of the main forum page under the manufacturer section you with find the Starcraft sub forum. At the top of that page is a thread with a Starcraft catalog from just about every year.. that might help narrow it down for ya!

Lots of picture to decide from. If I could find one with the correct side "Starcraft" emblem, it would narrow it down. The emblem seems to be specific from certain years.

Yeah, read entire thread. Boat has never been registered, its been a farm pond boat its entire life. Getting some pictures soon. I think the key might be the plastic starcraft emblems. They seem to change then every couple years. Serial number must be a dead end. It is a 6 digit that starts with 99xxxx. Thought that may help. Ugh..
