Am about to refit the flywheel on my 1976 seahorse and wondered if there is a specific clearance between the coil induction core and the magneto?

Incidently; does anyone know whether the designer responsible for the gearcase oil filler died a painful, lingering death?

I don't know about the clearance specs, as I've always used the OMC special tool for setting it.

Why do you ask about the gearcase ??

I think you will find this helpful. from the Top Secret Files at the beginning of this forum. Best of luck and get a pump for the gear case oil fill. Rick.

Hmmm. I can drain and fill my 6 hp gearcase in minutes. I do it every time because it leaks a bit and I'm too lazy to reseal it....

I just think there should be a limit to how many times one should have to wash one's hands in any hour, as a consequence of squeezing an oil bottle with an unsecured nozzle end. With tennis elbow: me that is, not the bottle, as far as I know anyway.

So break down and buy a filler pump already.
