I recently bought a 1987 Bayliner Capri. All the wood is rotten. I have the restoration underway, almost all the wood is out. I hoped the transom and front engine base was solid but it is not. Engine removal underway.
The OMC/Merc/GM thing is confusing to me, so here is my question. Exactly which components do I have? I want to make sure I get the right parts when ordering. The engine and drive have OMC on them. Here are the numbers:
Hull ID: BL1D12CX1687
#'s on engine: 302AMFTC ser T0967525
985042 ser T0503601
#'s on drive 984757 ser T0039232
When parts supplier lists Apha gen I or things like that I would like to know what category I should be looking at.
