I have an 82 70hp Evinrude. the motor is bad on the power trim & tilt. how do I get it out. I have the motor bolted to a stand I built to hold it. I have the pin and all bolt's out. does one of the transum clamps have to come off?

You may try loosening up the tilt tube nuts and spreading the transom clamps.

Ok that is what I thought. Going to have to come up with a way to suport the motor. Also when I looked up the replacment motor for this model it showes a 2 wire motor. Mine is a 3 wire. I am gessing that thay have updated scence mine was built.

I got this motor on a boat but it wasn't part of the deal it had been sitting op for about 8 years and the guy said it probly wasn't eny good. I sprayed the carbs with carb cleaner got some fresh gas oil mix and it fired right up runs and idelles good and has good compression. Going to replace the water pump and it should be a nice motor.

Well I got the power trim out. One more question. Can the rotation be reversed on these motors? reson I ask is thing about running 2 motors on my boat.
