putting a electric start on my 68 fastwin what size battery cable should i use? i have some 6ga battery cable, is that strong enough or do i need to go to a 4ga cable?
6 ga should be fine for the battery cable. I used it on my 30hp w/o any issues.
edit: I did extend it with 4 ga cable when added 15 feet to move the battery forward to the bow.
thanks jasper. my boat is a 1971 appleby 14ft v bottom, and i moved the battery just up behind the middle seat,still okay to use the 6ga cable it will be about 6 or 7ft long.
