What is the best way to clean the rub rail. It looks like white silicone caulk on the bottom side but has some dark mold spots on it. Use bathroom Z14 mold remover? Bleach? Chlorine? Other product? Will this damage the fiberglass finish or wax.

Lacquer thinner or acetone. It removed the dirt and oxidation and makes them look like new. follw up with your favorite vinyl protector afterwards.

BTW: There silicon on the under side of the rail is a pretty good indication that the deck / hull joint is leaking and somone caulked the joint of removing the rubrail to make the proper repair.

Thanks for the reply. I will try the acetone.
I would hope that it was not a repair job since it would have been from the factory. Maybe it is not silicone, I did not look too closely, I just noticed it was white, smooth, and had some mold. So is Z14 or chlorine is not a good choice?
