Oil pressure sender readings for 3.0

Took the boat out and guage did not register any oil pressure. Went back in and used a multi-meter for OHMS test. Sender read 248ohms with guage wire off, motor not running. Started motor, with guage wire off and got a jumbled reading....went from 228 down to 161 and then back to 228. Put on guage wire and got 0 for a reading with motor running. Is the sender bad or is it the guage? Book says 244 ohms not running and 103 for 40psi. Thanks for the help.

With the wire off the sender, touch the wire to a good ground with the key on, and the gauge should peg max OP. If it does touch the wire to the side of the sender (no paint) and see if it pegs. Should get the same thing.

If the gauge doesn't move, then either the gauge or the wire going to it is bad.
