18ft bass buggy trailer 24ft party barge

I'm wondering if anyone has ever extended a trailer. I got a 1991 trailstar bass buggy 18ft trailer cheap I bought a 24 party barge I hauled the boat home on trailer but I do not have any tongue weight I'm thinking about extending tounge of trailer out to move the boat forward has anyone ever done this before

I know a lot of the trailers can fit more than one length boat, but their is more to consider. I would think a 18 ft trailer is a single axle with no breaks. A 24 boat should be on a duel axle with breaks, so you should look into finding one that is designed to tow correctly for that weigh boat.

You can, and one other thing is the axle and tire rating, If its enough then it should work fine.

It's not enough trailer. Your single axle was not designed to carry the 24's weight.

I have seen some 24ft on single axle trailers I just didn't know

You're right, Greenery. They used to put 24 footers on single axle trailers years ago. Now they put pretty much any barge over 22 feet on tandems. Unless you're a good metal worker and have ready access to tools and materials I'd suggest selling the trailer you have and getting one suited to the boat you have. Probably come out cheaper, and definitely come out safer. Welcome aboard.
