I have the Mercury 150hp 4 stroke on our 23ft Berkshire tritoon and wonder if it's set to low.
The reason being that the dealer has tried 4 different props and we get the exact same thing everytime, 5,200 rpm's at 33 mph exactly.

At present I have the Enertia 15 1/8 x 14 ptop on and that is what the Merc. mgr. recommends, it's also the prop that Merc. uses for most of their boat tests on their web site. On their site all their tests are faster than my boat and the rpm's in the area they should be, 5,600 to 5,800.

Has anyone had a similar situation as me? I cannot see my cavitation plate when running fast.

Re: motor to low?

I assume you're properly trimming the motor up while running?
Might want to post some pictures of the cav plate VS the bottom of the motor pod.

Would make for some more informed opinions about your situation.

Make sure the dealer has checked the throttle linkage to make sure the full range of motion is being achieved.
