Just inherited this one from MIL since I just finished the Glastron(inherited just before FIL passed away) and am selling that since I have the only car big enough to tow it.

Anyways... Its a 1987 Lund S-16DLX w/25hp Johnson, entire boat is 100% as it was new from Lund except the Happy Troller plate.

To Do List:
Trailer Lights
Trailer Winch
Nav Lights (Removable LED from Attwood)
New Bilge pump & relocated switch from under motor hood to console (don't ask)
clean bilge area and fuel tanks
replace rotten wood
new rod holders

on to the photos

That'll be a sweet tinny! Lunds are well built boats.

Is the transom rotted, or just the deck?

No wood on this transom, its a billet aluminum plate! As for the rod holders, they are fine, the snap in brackets are broken and bolts are basically rusted through.

Did a little cleaning today. Foam under wood is dry as a bone!
Here is what the bilge looked like before cleaning

Re: 1987 Lund refresh

Got the new rear deck made out of 5/8" Aruco ply and figured while I was at it I am replacing all the wood on the boat except the deck since I have the remainder of a full sheet of ply to use up. I also came upon a product that may come in handy for others.
Interlux 1026
I will also be using Interlux Primcote and then Interlux Brighside Poly.

Hey Wa! Nice fishing boat... I hear lots of good things about Lunds...

Not to be a party pooper, but don't assume the foam is dry all the way to the bottom... Lots of times the foam is dry is a bone until the bottom few inches where the water is sitting and adding weight. You can do a "core sample" with a pvc pipe (sharpened on one end like a drill bit); Push down and twist; take out a plug and see if you are holding water/weight at the bottom....

Been going full tilt on the Lund the past couple weeks. Here is the painting system that I used for all the new wood.

Re: 1987 Lund refresh

Have that same Lund accept in the 14' model. Wonderful little boat, goes anywhere from 10" deep rock bars to big open lakes. Have always felt safe in it. Sad to say it's moving on to a new home with my baby brother. I will miss it and hope I'm not making a mistake.
