Im replacing the old wood in my Cobalt and curious what would be best to seal up the new plywood I have... I have some Oil based paint laying around, but in another thread i saw that you guys recommend Spar urethane...

Which is better?

If you already have the paint, I'd use that, if you have the color you like.

I wood recommend sealing your new wood with some epoxy resin first before painting. The epoxy will soak into dry wood and preserve your wood much longer than paint alone.

I think the clear wood finish of exterior grade spar urethane would look better on your fiberglass boat, probably last longer too.
