I have a 1997 Evenrude 175 SLEUC.

I replaced the VRO last summer, all works as it should. My problem is the "No Oil" light on the system check remains lit.

Background: In testing the VRO failure last summer, I disconnected the sensor on the motor which set off the No Oil light. Once the VRO was replaced and tested everything was re installed. The "No Oil" light remains on at all times now.

I recently replaced the gauges on the boat and replaced the tachometer with system check with a new one. The problem is the No Oil light continues to stay on even with a new gauge installed.

Can I reset the No Oil setting somewhere and if so how.

You assistance is greatly appreciated.

Unplug the "VRO" wiring connector and see if the NO OIL light turns off.

No Oil alarm is a motion sensor. An OMC service manual should have a test for the sender.
