steering went bad ?????????????

Hey guys

haven't started my 1989 23 ft proline CC w/ 1988 225 omc outboard in 2 months . today went out started it up ,went to turn the wheel ,nothing ,moved the outboard by hand ,and the whell would turn all the way one way then nothing again. what do I HAVE TO REPLACE ?
Also engine runs fine for 2-3 minutes then stalls ,could it be a filter problem . it's been pretty nice out lately thought i could get out a few more times.

If it's a rack & pinion style Teleflex, there's a good chance the rack has broken. Will need to replace the entire thing (rack, helm, cable, etc.) as it comes as an assembly.

2 or 3 minutes and stalling does sound fuel related. Check easy stuff first. Fuel line properly connected? Tank properly vented? Fuel filter clean? Fuel bulb in good shape?

Are you saying the wheel will move it only in one direction? Is it hydraulic steering? Brand name?
