I have recently purchased a centurion bowrider with 2002 2 barrel carb mercruiser tow sports backed by a velvet drive. On the dam in a moderate short chop it misses/cuts out every time it hits hard. It cuts out like an ignition fault but all the wires and HT leads are secure. Is it possible to be a float level issue. The design of the hull does make it slappy on rough water.

Sounds like a loose or corroded connection. With the engine running do a wiggle test on the engine and boat harness. Some times the pins inside the connectors become corroded and will drive you nuts.

Do a wiggle test. Start it up and wiggle every electrical connection on the boat till you find the loose connection.

Ayuh,.... Ditto that,... The Shake, Wiggle, Pull test is 'bout the only way to find electrical gremlins...
