I am the owner of a fiberglass repair facility and often do work for customers either in marinas or that live on canals. This usually entails them paying for a haul-out in the case of the marina, or having to get there boat back on the trailer in the case of the canal. Maybe Im not the first to think of this, but I'd like to set up a little fleet of RIBs that can handle light gelcoat scratch repairs and buffing/polishing the freeboard of boats in the water. The huge obstacle is powering a buffing wheel in a rib. My seemingly bad solutions are as follows:

Bring long extension cord and plug into shore power 110 and let it dip in the water similar to so many yellow shore power cords I see. (dangerous, unprofessional)

make a little bitty boat for a generater that is towed close behind RIB. (pain in the butt, annoying)

invest in cordless buffing wheels and loads and loads of spare batteries and charging bank back at shop. (ridiculous)

Give employees rags and 3m imperial and say have fun. (I may get shot)

Any opinions appretiated.
