Most boaters have complained about water splashes at back transom when using Tohatsu outboards, this example is the other side of the coin. This is a 18 short shaft horse mounted on a rib with 18" keel/transom height. Looking at first pic one would assume that engine is mounted inside factory keel/transom height parameters, once on water with engine well trimmed to ride perpendicular, with well ballanced rib on plane at medium throttle, water flow is passing slightly over anticav plate, you could see rear cav plate exposed. To work as expected transom needs a full 2" chop down to 16".

Using the rib as it is, cav plate produces some side water splashes that remins there, has slight prop airation at choppy seas or at tight close turns, other than that rib planes super fast and performs real well on straight flat water course.
